Two More SIMEC Hydraulic Oil Presses Shipped to Ukraine

Tags :

M PLUS GROUP, one of the largest cold-pressed oil manufacturers in Ukraine, has placed a repeat order for two sets of SIMEC HOP-50/280 hydraulic oil presses. The sales contract was signed in May 2026, and both machines were completed in August and shipped to Ukraine by sea. This is not our first cooperation: an identical HOP50/280 has been running reliably at the client’s facility, and its stable performance laid the foundation for this repeat order.

Based in Ukraine, M PLUS GROUP has years of specialized experience in producing cold-pressed extra virgin oils. Its product range covers more than 20 varieties, including sunflower seed oil, amaranth seed oil, black cumin oil, camelina oil, cedar nut oil, poppy seed oil, hemp seed oil, walnut oil, cherry seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, sesame oil, black mustard oil, chilli seed oil, corn oil, fig seed oil, flax oil, mustard oil, milk thistle oil, pumpkin seed oil and rosehip oils. Certified to the EU Organic Standard and ISO standards, the company exports its organic cold-pressed vegetable oils to Europe, the United States, India and the CIS countries.

Sunflower is one of Ukraine’s most important cash crops. Blessed with vast, fertile chernozem (black soil), Ukrainian farmers sow around 5–6 million hectares of sunflower every year, harvesting roughly 11–13 million tons of sunflower seeds. Ukraine has remained the world’s largest sunflower oil exporter for nearly two decades, still accounting for about 30% of global exports.

Why cold pressing matters

Not all sunflower oil is produced by cold pressing. In the conventional hot process, sunflower seeds are first cooked and then pressed at high temperatures in a screw oil expeller, after which the crude oil goes through chemical refining. The heat and refining destroy much of the vitamin E, phytosterols and polyphenols, leaving the final oil with little natural flavor.

By contrast, cold pressing keeps the oil below 50°C from start to finish, with no cooking, no chemicals and no refining. Cold-pressed sunflower oil can contain almost twice as much vitamin E as the hot-pressed product, and two to three times more polyphenols. Free from refining, cold-pressed oil also retains its natural golden color and the pleasant, nutty flavor of sunflower seeds.

The market for organic seed oil keeps growing. The global cold-pressed sunflower oil market was valued at around USD 0.9 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 1.3 billion by 2034, representing a CAGR of about 4.1%. Surveys indicate that roughly 40% of consumers now prefer oils labeled “cold-pressed”, “organic” or “extra-virgin”. With abundant domestic sunflower seed supplies and growing overseas demand for high-quality oil, adding two more presses made perfect sense for scaling up their output.

Why they chose SIMEC again

The first SIMEC all-stainless-steel HOP50/280 was delivered to this client back in 2018. With a maximum working pressure of 50 MPa, the hydraulic oil press exerts up to 380 tons of pressing force on the raw material. Under this pressure, most of the virgin oil is extracted at room temperature, with no heating, no friction and no protein denaturation, so the nutrients and original flavor of the oil are fully preserved. All parts in contact with the material are made of food-grade SS304 stainless steel, customized to the client’s requirements.

The machine has run steadily in the client’s plant ever since. After eight years of reliable operation, the client decided to expand production, and in May 2026 signed a contract for two more HOP50/280 presses. Same model, same configuration.

Each unit is an automatic hydraulic oil press fitted with two material barrels and supports both automatic and manual operation. It is driven by a 4 kW electric motor. The material barrels, oil collection trays and all other parts in contact with the oil are made of food-grade SS304 stainless steel. A set of spare parts was supplied together with the presses, including oil seals, hydraulic hoses, pressure gauges and a toolkit.
